You can delete your Gua account and its data at any time. Here is how.
In the app
- Open Gua and go to Settings.
- Open your account settings and choose Deactivate account.
- Confirm. Your account is deactivated and removed.
What deletion does
Deleting your account removes your profile and account from Gua and stops you from sending or receiving messages. Because private messages are end-to-end encrypted, copies already delivered to other people's devices remain on those devices, the same as any conversation. Limited security and abuse-prevention records may be kept for a short period where required, then removed.
If you cannot open the app
If you have lost access to your device and cannot deactivate from inside Gua, contact us through Support from the phone number on the account, or with enough detail to verify it is yours, and we will process the deletion for you.
Contacts and discovery
After deletion your number no longer matches in contact discovery, so other people stop seeing you as being on Gua.
